Position: Math Teacher (6th Grade)

Rate: Up to $50 per hour

Job Summary

The Math Teacher is responsible for the education of students by delivering an engaging instructional program and modeling appropriate skills, attitudes, and behaviors. This teacher motivates, encourages, and inspires students to excel in their academic endeavors while setting high expectations that challenge them to reach their full potential.

The success of each student is closely tied to the dedication and vigilance of the teacher, making the teacher-student relationship paramount.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Demonstrate a passion for meeting the educational and welfare needs of young people, particularly those from underprivileged backgrounds, by practicing values of love, compassion, justice, and respect for human dignity.
• Engage in regular self-reflection and actively participate in a community of professionals sharing best practices to ensure all students learn effectively.
• Collaborate with parents as essential partners in their children's education, working tirelessly to communicate and engage them positively.
• Emphasize character development and the golden rule as fundamental components of a holistic education.
• Maintain enthusiasm and passion for the daily responsibilities of a classroom teacher.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field.
• Current, valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an endorsement in Math.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
• A commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learning needs.
