Job Description

Assistant Director of Events & Stewardship

University of Tennessee Foundation, Inc. invites applications to fill the position of Assistant Director of Events & Stewardship at the Natalie L. Haslam College of Music (NLHCOM). Reporting to the Senior Director of Advancement, the role oversees all NLHCOM advancement events, processes, and stewardship of the Deans Society and Directors Society.

Responsibilities

Directing Events:

Lead several high?visibility Advancement events for the Natalie L. Haslam College of Music, including the Donor Recognition and Reception Recital, the annual Gala, Band Family Day, advisory board functions, and other key stakeholder activities. Collaborate with the Senior Director of Advancement to manage the Board of Advisors, Band Alumni Council, and Board of Visitors, handling meeting attendance, preparation, follow?up, venue logistics, and volunteer management.

Stewardship:

Coordinate NLHCOM stewardship activities in collaboration with the Senior Director of Advancement, facilitating student thank?you notes, endowment reports, and maintaining individualized stewardship plans for the colleges significant relationships. Serve as the lead staff member for the Deans Society and Directors Society, developing thank?you processes, birthday and life event recognition, and an exclusive donor experience.

Advancement Operations:

Create and execute game?day cultivation and stewardship experiences for NLHCOM top donors and prospects, and develop new processes and procedures for collaboration across campus teams. Oversee core daily office operations, including customer service and acting as contact for colleagues.

Administration:

Assist the Senior Director of Advancement in focusing on donor relationships by producing major?gift proposals, managing CRM data entry, creating donor bios for university leaders, and processing expenses and receipts related to donor visits.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelors degree
  • 5+ years of experience in alumni affairs, donor relations, event oversight, or related fields
  • Ability to propose new and improved solutions to existing processes
  • Strong interpersonal skills and capacity to maintain relationships across college, university, public agencies, and organizations
  • Ability to carry out complex oral and written instructions, working independently under minimal supervision


Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Masters degree
  • Independent work with minimal supervision
  • Strong project management skills, meeting deadlines in a fast?paced environment


A valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record is required for travel responsibilities.
