A private Pittsburgh family is seeking a skilled, conscientious, and reliable Estate Caretaker / Groundskeeper to manage the upkeep and maintenance of their estate grounds, woodlands, trails, and household property. This is a full-time, long-term position with potential housing accommodations nearby for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain estate grounds, landscaping, and woodlands, including trails and ponds

  • Operate and maintain light-duty equipment (tractor, commercial mowers, front loader, utility vehicle, mini-excavator)

  • Perform general property maintenance and repairs

  • Carry out seasonal tasks including lawn care, leaf cleanup, and snow removal

  • Use hand and power tools (chainsaw, edger, blower, power washer, weed trimmer, etc.)

  • Perform basic handyman tasks (carpentry, plumbing, painting, minor electrical work)

  • Conduct preventative maintenance on all tools and machinery

  • Manage and oversee outside contractors working on the property

  • Purchase necessary materials and supplies

  • Maintain high standards of safety, security, and privacy for the estate

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in groundskeeping, property management, or a related field

  • Hands-on experience with landscaping and operating machinery

  • General handyman skills required; basic carpentry, plumbing, and/or electrical skills strongly preferred

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with small engine and equipment maintenance

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and take initiative

  • Supervisory experience is a plus

  • Trustworthy, security-conscious, and seeking long-term employment
