Program Overview

Embark on a rewarding career at the intersection of finance and technology as an Analyst in Lumen’s Finance & Accounting Rotational (FAR) Program. This early-career position is designed for recent graduates who wish to develop a comprehensive understanding of corporate finance and accounting. Through a structured two-year rotational program, analysts will gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, forward-thinking environment where artificial intelligence is transforming the future of finance. The FAR program offers participants exposure to real-world use cases where generative AI drives smarter decision-making, accelerates reporting, and delivers predictive insights.

Program Structure

FAR is a highly competitive, two-year leadership development program designed to accelerate your career. Consisting of four, six-month rotational assignments, the FAR program exposes early-in-career professionals to different segments of the Finance organization, gaining experience, knowledge, and building a far-reaching professional network. This broad exposure is designed to optimize FAR candidates’ learning and to develop a pipeline of emerging leaders who can move through and have a transformative impact on the Finance organization at Lumen.

Beyond the four rotational assignments, FAR participants also participate in mentorship programs and supplemental professional development activities, including classroom learning and executive seminars designed to cultivate leadership, build business acumen, and develop technical skills and knowledge of the industry.

Rotational assignments may include:

  • Be a Change Agent - Identify inefficiencies and help design smarter, faster workflows. Your ideas will fuel process improvement initiatives that boost productivity across the organization.
  • Build Models That Matter - Analyze complex financial data, develop robust models, and contribute to strategic planning using advanced tools and quantitative techniques.
  • Collaborate Across Functions - Work alongside cross-functional teams—including Finance, Data, and AI—to tackle special projects, drive process improvements, and deliver ad hoc analyses that make a real impact.
  • Champion Compliance & Integrity - Ensure financial operations align with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory standards—protecting the business and building trust.
  • Tell the Story Behind the Numbers - Support the development of executive-level reports and presentations. Use data to uncover trends, assess risks, and spotlight opportunities for growth.
