Custodian for L.E.A.D. Academy High School Cafeteria

Job Goal: To maintain school system buildings and grounds in a clean, safe condition.

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Principal & Head of Maintenance

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read instructions and write brief reports
• Ability to use technology and operate machinery associated with the position
• Ability to work collaboratively as a team member with large and/or diverse groups
• Physical strength, mobility, dexterity, stamina, and acuity to perform job responsibilities
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to climb, stoop, bend, and lift as needed
• Proficiency in oral, written, electronic communications and able to use various technological devices/software associated with the position
• Such alternative qualifications to those listed as the board may require

Performance Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

• Demonstrates support for the school system, its purpose, direction, and priorities
• Demonstrates the ability to multi-task and to prioritize tasks
• Maintains confidentiality of the Board of Education business, its staff, and its students
• Demonstrates and models regular and predictable attendance
• Demonstrates professionalism in appearance and in attitude
• Demonstrates the ability to use technology for communication and job responsibilities as required
• Keeps building and grounds clean and neat (sidewalks, entrances, offices, restrooms, etc.)
• Performs preventative maintenance (cleaning filters, vents, etc.)
• Reports maintenance needs to Administrative Assistant
• Sweeps, mops, and vacuums floors according to schedules provided
• Dusts furniture regularly according to schedules provided
• Cleans and disinfects all restrooms and restroom equipment
• Cleans windows
• Disinfects chairs in conference room, tables, and counters throughout building
• Cleans baseboards
• Buffs and waxes floors as needed
• Maintains flexibility with schedule and work hours if needed
• Empties and cleans shredders
• Reports potential problems, unusual events or work irregularities to appropriate administrative or supervisory personnel
• Responds to inquiries, requests, constructive feedback, concerns, and/or complaints in a timely and positive manner
• Properly uses and cares for tools, equipment and materials resources of the school
• Reports absences and takes leave in accordance with board policies and procedures
• Maintains inventory of needed supplies, equipment, and tools and notifies appropriate personnel when re-stocking or replacements are needed
• Performs other job-related duties as directed by the supervisor(s)

Salary: Based on LEAD Academy's Salary Schedule

Terms of Employment: Negotiable second shift hours. 9-month
