Aerotek is currently hiring for an I&E Technician in the greater Baltimore area!

We are seeking a skilled Instrumentation & Electrical Technician to maintain all instrumentation, controls, meters, electrical machinery, and auxiliaries for cogeneration, chilled water, steam, and hot water plants, distribution systems, and customer facilities. You will operate boilers and ancillary equipment safely and reliably, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe working conditions in accordance with established policies.
• Identify, report, and correct unsafe work environments.
• Operate hand and power tools competently.
• Perform cleaning, inspection, testing, repairing, and calibration of control systems.
• Service temperature and pressure instruments, gages, flow transmitters, switches, solenoids, and control valves.
• Repair and modify control circuitry with precision.
• Install and program electronic instruments and related components.
• Test, analyze, and troubleshoot electrical circuits.
• Remove, install, clean, and repair motors, circuit breakers, and transformers.
• Create and update diagrams for plant controls and instruments.
• Install, maintain, and calibrate computerized controls and programmable controllers.
• Complete preventive, corrective, and scheduled maintenance of systems and equipment.
• Provide technical support for start-up teams on new installations.
• Monitor and control pressure, temperatures, and flow of steam and chilled water systems.
• Write work orders for equipment repair.
• Maintain records of operations and maintenance.
• Troubleshoot instrument, control, and metering problems.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Work mandatory overtime, on-call assignments, weekends, back shifts, and holidays as needed.

Essential Skills

• Electrical troubleshooting skills.
• 4 years of progressive experience as a technician in central plant, power generation, or process plants.
• Ability to write logic using industry-standard languages.
• Diagnose and resolve PLC programming issues.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and system updates.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Baltimore, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.65 - $48.65/hr.
