Job Description

Sheridan MN is looking for a skilled and proactive maintenance technician to perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs across various systems and equipment. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and a dedication to maintaining a safe, functional environment.

Maintenance Technician Job Responsibilities and Duties

• Perform regular inspections and preventative maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues.
• Install, troubleshoot, and repair machinery and equipment as needed.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests.
• Document maintenance activities and update service logs and records.
• Assist with facility upgrades, renovations, and projects.
• Follow all safety protocols and regulations during maintenance work.
• Communicate with supervisors and team members about maintenance needs and priorities.

Maintenance Technician Qualifications and Skills

• Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
• Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, climbing, and standing for long periods.
• Familiarity with building automation systems and maintenance management software is a plus.

Education and Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required (technical school or trade certification preferred.)
• 2+ years of experience in facility maintenance, mechanical repair, or related field.
• Certification in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical systems is highly desirable.
• OSHA safety certification or training preferred.

Physical Requirements

Work is performed in a factory environment with regular exposure to dust, dirt, noise, and the physical hazards of machinery, plus some exposure to fumes, oils, lubricants and chemicals.

• Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
• Push, Pull, lift, stretch, and bend less than ½.
• Safety toe shoes and hearing protection required.
