Job Description

**Responsibilities** The incumbent is responsible for technical, clerical, and transportation duties for the department and is involved with the preparation, distribution and delivery of medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. The technician must demonstrate competency in patient care for neonate, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. Other duties within scope of practice as assigned by supervising pharmacist. The technician may be required to work at another GSSA facility. **Qualifications** **Required:** + One year of acute care hospital pharmacy practice experience or a 6 week Pharmacy Technician externship at a Dignity Health hospital + Registration with the California State Board of Pharmacy as a registered technician **Preferred:** + Completion of an ASHP accredited Pharmacy Technician program is preferred + Experience working in a USP 797 clean room is preferable **Overview** Nestled in the heart of East Sacramento, Dignity Health Mercy General Hospital is a 313 bed acute care facility that provides a wide range of services with special advocacy for the poor and underserved.
