We are looking for a skilled Public Senior Accountant to join our team in Belton, Missouri. This is a long-term contract role suited for an individual with expertise in managing accounting operations and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial processes.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee month-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of financial reports.
• Manage the general ledger, maintaining up-to-date and accurate records.
• Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
• Perform account reconciliations to verify accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure alignment between internal records and bank statements.
• Assist in preparing financial statements and supporting documentation.
• Collaborate with team members to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
• Provide support during audits, ensuring all requested documentation is available.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide actionable insights.• Proven experience in month-end close processes and general ledger management.
• Strong knowledge of journal entries and account reconciliation practices.
• Familiarity with bank reconciliation procedures and financial reporting.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in accounting software and tools.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines consistently.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
