We’re searching for our next Senior Public Relations Specialist. This role requires an advanced public affairs and public relations background and will focus on communications related activities that support a cybersecurity-focused organization. Strong candidates will have experience supporting clients with media relations activities and executing communications strategies. Experience supporting a federal agency’s communications operations is highly preferred. Key Responsibilities: + Serve as a senior level media relations consultant. + Develops key monitoring and analytics reports that are key to CISA media relations and public affairs programs. + Use insights on effective media outreach strategy to produce national, regional, trade and targeted outreach plans and lists. + Provide strategic media counsel to the client related to generate positive, impactful coverage related to cyber and physical security and resilience programs. + Develop communications materials in support of new or expanding programs and initiatives, including fact sheets, press releases and advisories, toolkits, talking points and other communications products. + Provide External Affairs staff with timely issues/crisis communications support. Qualifications: + Currently holds, or is able to obtain, DHS Fitness Determination. + BS/BA in Marketing, PR, Communications, or related field. + Minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated experience + Assisting in the research, planning, research and strategic development of: 1)Comprehensive public relations and awareness campaigns. 2)Working as an advisor and/or consultant to clients and project team members. + Knowledge of public relations, and integrated media. + U.S. citizenship required (required by federal government for position) Preferred Skills and experience: + Excellent communication skills, especially written. + Strong research and organizational skills, including processing large volume of data. + PR agency, corporate or government agency experience preferred. + Self-starter, with ability to manage tasks and handle multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
