American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU position requiring a CT or compact license, with Level I trauma experience and specialized pediatric critical care skills.

\n \n Responsibilities\n
  • Work in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of a large acute care hospital
  • Patient population includes critically ill pediatric patients, including cardiac cases
  • Average nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2
  • Night shifts, 3x12 hours (19:00 to 07:00)
  • Required to work every other weekend
  • Floating required to other pediatric units within scope, including Pediatric ED, NNICU, inpatient departments, and psychiatric units
  • Epic EMR is used; experience preferred but not required
  • Responsible for the care and monitoring of critically ill pediatric patients, including participation in advanced therapies such as CRRT and ECMO where qualified
  • Travelers are expected to float to various pediatric units and must adapt to different care environments within the children’s hospital
  • Connect with charge nurse for orientation when floating to unfamiliar units
  • Royal blue scrubs required
  • Facility is a Level I Trauma and Academic Medical Center
  • Up to 7 days of requested time off may be approved without additional approval; requests longer than 7 days require approval
  • Employees must reside at least 75 miles from the facility
  • Previously employed staff must meet rehire criteria for consideration
\n \n Requirements\n
  • Active CT or compact state RN license (pending license accepted with application prior to consideration)
  • Minimum 3 years of recent PICU RN experience in a large trauma center required
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required
  • Experience in cardiac critical care is required
  • Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) and ECMO certification preferred
  • Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
  • COVID vaccine and booster required unless exempt for religious or medical reasons
  • No prior disciplinary action on nursing license accepted
  • Prior permanent staff must have been gone at least 2 years to be considered
