Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Veterinary Technician or Assistant to support our doctors in delivering exceptional medical care and client education. This position plays a critical role in both patient care and the client experience, requiring a balance of technical skill, communication, and empathy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain thorough patient histories
  • Collect vital signs, including weight, temperature, pulse, and respiration
  • Educate clients on preventative care, nutrition, and treatment plans
  • Safely restrain animals for procedures and examinations
  • Prepare and administer vaccines
  • Collect and process laboratory samples
  • Perform in-house laboratory diagnostics
  • Venipuncture and IV catheter placement
  • Administer treatments for hospitalized patients
  • Prepare and dispense medications
  • Monitor and maintain anesthesia during procedures
  • Assist in post-operative recovery
  • Perform dental cleanings and assist with oral care
  • Respond to emergency situations
  • Provide administrative support: appointment scheduling, client check-out, follow-up calls, and treatment plan preparation
  • Maintain accurate medical records
  • Provide comfort to anxious pets and support to concerned clients
Skills & Qualifications
  • Prior experience as a veterinary assistant or technician
  • Administrative experience is a plus
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Calm, patient, and empathetic demeanor
  • Ability to follow instructions and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs
  • High school diploma required; completion of a Veterinary Assistant program preferred
  • Credentialed Veterinary Technicians may be assigned additional responsibilities:
    • Training and onboarding new team members, managing their progress and check-ins
    • Auditing and recording controlled substances
    • Reviewing travel sheets for completeness and accuracy
    • Ensuring team compliance with newly implemented protocols and procedures
