Position Overview: We are seeking a Transport Dispatcher to coordinate the scheduling and delivery of fuel, gasoline, and propane across multiple service areas. The ideal candidate will have experience in dispatching, inventory monitoring, and managing real-time logistics within a high-compliance, challenging environment.
This role is structured around a set weekly schedule that includes midday, evening, and Saturday shifts, along with predictable days off. Overtime may be required occasionally but is not excessive. The role also includes participation in an on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 operational coverage.
Key Responsibilities: • Dispatch fuel, gasoline, and propane deliveries to customer locations.
• Track and communicate with drivers throughout their shifts to ensure timely deliveries.
• Monitor tank inventory levels and coordinate refills to prevent runouts or overfills.
• Address and adapt to supply chain disruptions, terminal issues, and product availability changes.
• Maintain up-to-date delivery records, driver logs, and fuel inventory documentation.
• Ensure full compliance with all DOT, EPA, and HAZMAT safety regulations.
• Optimize delivery routes and load scheduling based on customer demand and real-time conditions.
• Communicate with terminals, suppliers, drivers, and customers to coordinate efficient service.
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for after-hours and emergency dispatch support.
Schedule & Availability: • Structured weekly schedule including daytime, evening, and Saturday shifts.
• Overtime required occasionally, but not excessively.
• Must participate in on-call rotation shared among the dispatch team.
• Flexibility in responding to fuel supply issues or urgent delivery needs is essential.
Qualifications: • Minimum 2 years of dispatching experience in fuel, propane, or hazardous materials transportation.
• Strong understanding of logistics, compliance, and inventory management.
• Familiarity with fuel, gasoline, and propane delivery systems and associated regulations is a plus.
• Proficient in dispatching and fleet tracking software a plus.
• Excellent communication, time management, and critical thinking skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent required (transportation/logistics certifications preferred).
